Job Title: Food Service Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at JMK MAHAL Restaurant. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and high-quality food.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish Methods to Meet Work Schedules: Develop and implement efficient work schedules to ensure that our kitchen staff are able to meet the demands of our busy restaurant.
  • Requisition Food and Kitchen Supplies: Order and manage the inventory of food and kitchen supplies to ensure that we have the necessary ingredients and equipment to operate at peak efficiency.
  • Supervise and Coordinate Activities of Staff: Lead and motivate our kitchen staff to ensure that they are working together effectively to provide excellent service to our customers.
  • Train Staff in Job Duties, Sanitation, and Safety Procedures: Provide ongoing training and coaching to our kitchen staff to ensure that they are aware of and following all relevant health and safety protocols.
  • Estimate Ingredient and Supplies Required for Meal Preparation: Analyze our menu and customer demand to estimate the necessary ingredients and supplies for meal preparation.
  • Hire Food Service Staff: Recruit and hire qualified kitchen staff to join our team.
  • Ensure that Food and Service Meet Quality Control Standards: Monitor and maintain the quality of our food and service to ensure that it meets our high standards.
  • Prepare Budget and Cost Estimates: Develop and manage budgets and cost estimates to ensure that our food service department is operating efficiently.
  • Address Customers' Complaints or Concerns: Respond promptly and professionally to customer complaints and concerns.
  • Maintain Records of Stock, Repairs, Sales, and Wastage: Maintain accurate records of our inventory, repairs, sales, and wastage to inform our purchasing and inventory management decisions.
  • Prepare Food Order Summaries for Chef: Prepare summaries of food orders for our chef to ensure that they are aware of customer preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Must Have Knowledge of the Establishment's Culinary Genres: Familiarize yourself with our restaurant's culinary genres and menu offerings to provide excellent service to our customers.
  • Supervise and Check Assembly of Trays: Supervise and check the assembly of trays to ensure that they are presented to our customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Supervise and Check Delivery of Food Trolleys: Supervise and check the delivery of food trolleys to ensure that they are delivered to our customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Establish Work Schedules: Develop and implement work schedules to ensure that our kitchen staff are able to meet the demands of our busy restaurant.

Work Environment: Our restaurant is a fast-paced environment that requires our staff to work under pressure to meet the demands of our customers. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will be required to work in a physically demanding environment that requires standing for extended periods, walking, and attention to detail.

Personal Suitability: We are looking for a team player who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
