Job Description

Job Title: French Language Assessment Specialist

Job Summary:

The York Region District School Board is seeking a highly skilled French Language Assessment Specialist to join our team. As a French Language Assessment Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating the French language proficiency of candidates applying for French Immersion and French Core opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the French language proficiency of candidates through a comprehensive assessment process
  • Administer and score the French Language Assessment (FLA) to determine candidate eligibility for French Immersion and French Core opportunities
  • Provide feedback to candidates on their French language proficiency
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure a seamless assessment process

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of French language and linguistics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in language assessment and evaluation
  • Knowledge of French language teaching and learning principles
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people
