About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive diagnostic, assessment, and treatment services to youth facing complex emotional and behavioral challenges.

Primary Accountabilities

You will be responsible for conducting clinical interventions, leading group therapy sessions, and providing consultation on behavioral analysis and management techniques. You will also be instrumental in crafting and refining intervention plans, ensuring they are tailored to each individual's needs.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a candidate who has completed a Master's degree in a clinical discipline such as Counselling Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or a related degree. You must be eligible for registration or be registered by the Nova Scotian or Canadian regulatory body or professional association related to the qualifying education.

  • Excellent interpersonal connections and autonomous work skills
  • Ability to navigate routine matters and crises with decisive action and sound judgment
  • Solid understanding of human behavior and considerable insight into youth motivation for change

Working Conditions

Wood Street Campus operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with an interdisciplinary team that provides stabilization, assessment, and treatment services to children with complex emotional and/or behavioral issues and disorders. You must be physically able to implement Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Model (NCI) techniques.

This is a term employment opportunity with an anticipated end date. The appointment status is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
