Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Coordinator, Harm Reduction to join our team at Northern Health Authority. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop harm reduction strategies, services, and initiatives that make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of harm reduction strategies and services that address the needs of populations disproportionately impacted by substance use.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including First Nations Health Authority, contracted agencies, community organizations, and law enforcement officials, to advance harm reduction initiatives.
  • Engage people with lived and living experience of substance use to inform and improve the planning and delivery of health services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to build trust and foster collaborative working relationships.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff and stakeholders on harm reduction principles and practices.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in harm reduction or a related field, such as Public Health, Health Promotion, or Social Work.
  • Five years of recent, related experience working with populations impacted by substance use, poverty, homelessness, or other determinants within a complex public or private sector environment.
  • Recent experience with system change initiatives in a large organization, preferably within a regional health authority, hospital, or community health setting.
  • Formal education and/or experience in project management.
  • A valid BC Driver's License is necessary as travel is a requirement of the position.
  • For regulated health care professional candidates, current full practicing registration with the applicable provincial College or Association is required.
