Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to lead and support our Peterborough Fuel Bundle Assembly Production team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for communicating business goals, programs, and processes to the production team, and utilizing your experience and expertise to solve problems and develop objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Communication
    • Communicate business goals, programs, and processes to the production team
    • Lead and motivate the production team to achieve daily, weekly, and yearly production targets
  • Production Planning and Scheduling
    • Develop production line manufacturing plans consistent with the goals and objectives of the operations department annual budget plan
    • Arrange for and provide adequate staffing to meet the production schedules set by production planning
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain monthly inventories to business and customer expectations
    • Manage shop floor inventory of materials to ensure sufficient WIP throughout processes
  • Employee Development and Training
    • Create and oversee an employee training schedule that emphasizes safety, quality, and productivity
    • Develop and support the growth of all employees
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Support and facilitate Lean Manufacturing principles by providing adequate training for project teams to accomplish continuous improvement projects
    • Work to maintain and further develop a Visual Workplace
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in an operations or management position) in business, industrial management, or engineering
  • At least 3 additional years of manufacturing supervision experience
  • Ability to plan, communicate, and execute
  • Ability to deal fairly and equitably with all employees
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Unionized environment experience is preferred
  • Able to participate on Emergency Response Team
  • Flexible to doing Shift Work
  • Able to work weekends if necessary
Compensation

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $78,000 and $121,000 per year. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
