Job Description:
The Academics Manager plays a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of the academic component of the ILSC Residential Juniors program. This involves assisting in the placement of students in appropriate classes, ensuring teachers have required materials, and maintaining an engaging curriculum throughout the program.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position that requires a strong organizational and communication skills. The Academics Manager will be responsible for leading academic meetings, coordinating teacher/classroom assignments, and welcoming students on arrival. Additionally, they will assist with staff evaluations and provide feedback to teachers.
The ideal candidate will have a graduate or undergraduate degree in Education or TESL related field, experience managing a team, and at least 2 years' experience teaching ESL. They must also possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Program Set-up and Closure: Collaborate with the Centre Director in interviewing and hiring teachers, setting up the academic program, and unpacking/packing academic resources.
- Academic Program: Welcome students, create level/number of classes, assign teachers, and advise/support teachers in lesson delivery.
- Staff: Support the Centre Director in leading pre-program staff orientation, monitoring staff working hours, and creating staffing schedules.
- Students: Coordinate student arrival/departure duties, manage student/staff welfare, and monitor attendance/performance.
