About the Role

We are seeking a flexible, dynamic, and creative classroom teacher to join our team at Jewett Elementary in Meadow Creek, BC. The successful applicant will have recent experience working with elementary-aged learners in a classroom teaching role and will possess strong classroom management skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote or rural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach a multi-age classroom of 15 students in grades K-5
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve pedagogy and stay current with best practices
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture

Requirements

  • Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Recent experience working with elementary-aged learners in a classroom teaching role
  • Strong classroom management skills and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote or rural environment
  • Recent trauma-informed schools training an asset
