Job Title: Primary/Intermediate Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Primary/Intermediate Teacher to join our team at École Frank Ross Elementary in Dawson Creek. As a Primary/Intermediate Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching students in grades K-7 and providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

About the School

École Frank Ross Elementary is a dual track, French Immersion and English, elementary school located in Dawson Creek, enrolling approximately 460 students. Our school serves a large and diverse population and has a significant number of specialty trained teachers to support student learning. We are committed to providing a collaborative and inquiry-based learning environment that fosters academic excellence and social responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Teach students in grades K-7
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social and emotional learning difficulties
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement school initiatives and goals
  • Use performance standards in the area of social responsibility
  • Implement Balanced Literacy and Criterion Based Referencing Assessment and Performance Based Assessment
Requirements
  • Hold, or be qualified for, a valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
  • Experience teaching primary and intermediate/middle school/secondary students
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team
  • Capacity to work with students who display a variety of behaviors
Benefits

  • Relocation Allowance: Up to $2,000 for out of district applicants
  • Northern Travel Allowance: Up to $4,000 of the salary paid to the employee shall be designated as a Northern Allowance Travel benefit
  • Remote and Rural Allowance: Teachers working in School District No. 59 are eligible to receive a remote and rural allowance, which is both an adjustment to the salary grid and an annual allowance of approximately $2,519* per FTE

*The annual allowance may increase as defined within the Collective Agreement with the British Columbia Teachers Federation.
