Job Summary

We are seeking a 3rd year Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering student to join our Development Engineering Team for an 8-month Co-op Term. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to provide support to various products manufactured at S&C Electric Company and gain exposure to engineering design principles and manufacturing techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design revisions using Solid Edge 3D CAD software
  • Support Development Team projects, including mechanics, electronics, high power electrical, software, and systems engineering
  • Investigate product designs to meet customer requirements
  • Assist with product testing (mechanical, electrical, software)
  • Manage short-duration projects from initial concept to prototyping to implementation

Requirements

  • 3rd or 4th year Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering student with a strong interest in power systems engineering
  • Able to work an 8-month Co-op placement for the Winter 2025 work term
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • A team player who can work independently under the supervision of a senior team member
  • Structured problem-solving experience and exposure to Lean principles
  • Quick learner
  • Experience using 3D modeling tools such as Solid Edge is a strong asset
  • Experience with product development testing is an asset
