The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating access and use of computer networks, maintaining and troubleshooting local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment. Key responsibilities include evaluating and installing computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software, as well as providing problem-solving services to network users. The ideal candidate will have a college diploma or equivalent, 1-2 years of experience, and excellent communication skills.

Work Setting:

  • Help desk
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP)
  • Information technology (IT) infrastructure

Key Tasks:

  • Coordinate access and use of computer networks
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of LANs, WANs, mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software
  • Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users
  • Implement data, software and hardware security procedures
  • Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet

Requirements:

  • College diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience
  • Excellent communication skills
