Store Director

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Facing: 30%
- Foster a customer-focused culture in the store by driving urgency and accountability to satisfy the customer.
- Degree of urgency and accountability will be determined via customer feedback tools and methods.
- Maintain awareness of local market pricing and product trends to collaborate with Operations Leader and develop actions to leverage opportunities for growth and address competition.
- Lead the implementation of product and vendor promotions, and customer events.
- Build strong relationships with key customers.
- Investigate customer concerns, implement corrective action, and communicate with customers and associates as needed.
- Ensure high availability of sales by keeping portfolios current and incorporating local customer needs.
Leadership and Winning Culture: 35%
- Effectively assess, select, onboard, develop, and coach a diverse team of associates to achieve performance goals and business results.
- Establish work objectives and manage the distribution of work among associates.
- Utilize the HR team and IR Talent Management System to manage performance management and ongoing development.
- Work with Operations Leader on performance reviews, performance issues, recommended promotions, and salary/wage increases.
- Build a sales culture by coaching and training associates to sell parts and solutions.
- Establish a leadership cadence for the team, including communication and community events to build an engaged team.
- Role-model customer-facing behaviors and customer service.
- Lead recognition, both formal and informal, for the store, including individual recognition and recognizing successes.
- Participate in team and community involvement activities.
Operations: 30%
- Develop and execute annual operating plans for the store.
- Analyze business forecasts and reports, conduct audits, and reviews to ensure business process and financial compliance.
- Work with Operations Leader to recommend potential synergies with other SBUs for market penetration.
- Responsible for achieving store sales goals.
- Conduct market price and product needs analyses and recommend new product offerings to Operations Leader.
- Manage store operations to ensure follow-through, productivity, and quality in standard work and processes.
- Oversee store inventory program to ensure inventory levels support customer availability and reduce OSMI.
- Ensure compliance with Company safety programs, procedures, conduct safety audits, and reinforce a strong safety culture.
- Responsible for maintaining required daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Responsible for cash management process, including reconciliation.
- Ensure showroom appearance is maintained.
Back Office: 5%
- Responsible for all aspects of inventory control, including replenishment, stocking, cycle counting, physical inventory, receiving, and slow-moving obsolete (SMOB).
- Monitor and audit product returns and warranty transaction/claim activity.
- Responsible for oversight of warehouse responsibilities, including parts deliveries, stocking, and storage.
- Flexible to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university or a 2-year Associate's (AA) degree and 4 years parts management-related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years supervisory experience with two or more employees.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency in an inventory management system or retail sales program a plus.
