Job Summary:

The General Construction Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimating and Cost Control: Estimate costs and materials for construction projects, ensuring accurate budgeting and cost control.
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Recruit, hire, and manage construction staff, coordinating schedules and activities to meet project deadlines.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate work activities with other project supervisors or managers, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Materials and Supplies: Requisition materials and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
  • Training and Development: Supervise and train construction staff, arranging for training and development opportunities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in construction management or a related field.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, flexible, and reliable.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:

Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.

Support for Youths:

Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.

Support for Indigenous People:

Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.

Work Environment: Permanent position, 40 hours per week, English language, and a welcoming work environment.
