Job Title: Family Support Specialist

Bridgeway Family Homes is seeking a highly skilled Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a Family Support Specialist, you will work with families, children, and youth who are experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate individual to provide goal-focused services to families and individuals in our Treatment Foster Homes. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative professional team that provides services in Foster Homes and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the collaborative team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Goal-Focused Services: Provide scheduled, goal-focused services to families and individuals, including developing and implementing goal-focused activities.
  • Case Management: Manage case notes, reports, and other administrative tasks to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Transportation: Transport children and youth while providing services, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Qualifications:
  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree: Hold a certificate, diploma, or degree in Child and Youth Care Practitioner from a recognized college or university.
  • Experience: Have 2-5 years of experience providing services to children, youth, and families with critical needs.
  • Certifications: Hold current Verbal De-escalation Certification (e.g., CIT, NCI, TCI, UMAB) and CPR/First Aid certifications.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess knowledge of FASD, ODD, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other diagnoses, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational, administrative, and report-writing skills.
Requirements:
  • Criminal Record Check: Hold a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Child Welfare Record Check: Hold a current Child Welfare Record Check.
  • Driver's Abstract: Possess a Driver's Abstract and a Class 'G' Driver's License.
  • Vehicle Insurance: Have access to an insured vehicle with $2 million liability insurance.
  • Computer and Email: Possess a computer and a personal email address.
