About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Power Platform Developer to join our IT Development team at the OCS Ontario Cannabis Store. As a Power Platform Developer, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of applications using Microsoft Power Platform.

About Your Day

  • Provide input from a systems perspective.
  • Assist in developing effort estimates for design and development activities.
  • Gain knowledge in the application domain.
  • Provide input to influence strategy within the application domain.
  • Assist in configuring Dataverse tables, forms, views, and Power Pages.
  • Write Power Automate Flows for business process automation and integration.
  • Write legacy real-time/async workflows in Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Dynamics Marketing.
  • Assist in developing and designing Model Driven Apps and Canvas Apps.
  • Import/Export data, bulk update records in Dataverse using scripting and Dynamics 365 community tools such as xrmtoolbox.
  • Configure SaaS and COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf) software with guidance.
  • Participate in system and application upgrades and other support activities as needed.
  • Assist users in solving problems and answers systems and application-related questions.
  • Adhere to programming standards when performing analysis, writing documentation, and testing components.
  • Develop code utilizing modern development practices such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and agile methodologies.
  • Develop unit test cases and validates test results during testing.
  • Test and debug applications in conjunction with business users.
  • Utilize test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
  • Develop documentation for the programs written or modified.
  • Provide input for training materials.
  • Investigate, resolve, and escalate problems and develops recommendations for resolution.
  • Identify the need for technical assistance to help in problem resolution.
  • Escalate issues as appropriate.

About You

  • Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology or related areas OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in Systems Integration and Application Development.
  • Experience of the above within the Retail or B2B Systems industry is preferred.
  • Certification in Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate is an asset.
  • 3+ years of experience with implementation & support of Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Experience with Power Fx, Model Driven Apps, Canvas Apps.
  • Experience with configuring Dataverse tables, views, columns, business rules.
  • Experience with developing websites and web-based applications.
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud-based services (Azure).
  • Ability to provide production support and respond quickly.
  • Comfortable using Jira, Confluence, and other collaboration tools.
  • Ability to work in Agile methodology.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven thinking skills.
  • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, and Dataverse.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and integration techniques.
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio Code and other development tools.
  • Retail or Supply Chain knowledge is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) module is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience working with Power platform and Microsoft solutions.
  • Collaboration and negotiation skills and ability to work across multiple groups.
  • Innovative, flexible and strong change management skills.
  • Experience in delivering large, business critical applications.
  • Thrive in a fast paced, intense environment, managing multiple deadlines and priorities.

About the Job

  • This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule.
  • The current in office requirement is a minimum of 3 days/week (may be more depending on business needs).
  • The OCS office is located near York Mills and Yonge Street.
  • OCS reserves the right to change this policy and its office location at any time.
  • City: Toronto, ON.
  • Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time.
  • Required Travel: Rare, usually within the GTA.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $95,000 - $110,000. This is a pay grade 7 role, with a salary range of $81,805.90 - $122,284.74. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
