About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Processing Specialist to join our team at APNA SPICE AND GROCERIES. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare Meats: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, and ensure they meet our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Cut and Trim Meats: Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat for sale, using precision and attention to detail.
  • Wrap and Package Meats: Wrap and package prepared meats in a clean and efficient manner, ensuring they are ready for display and sale.
  • Remove Bones and Grind Meats: Remove bones from meat and grind meats to the required consistency, using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Weigh and Prepare Special Orders: Weigh meats for sale and prepare special orders, such as custom cuts or packages, to meet customer requests.
  • Ensure Food Safety and Quality: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all food safety and quality control procedures to prevent contamination and ensure customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: Will train
  • Work Environment: Cold/refrigerated
  • Work Setting: Meat processing and/or packing plant/establishment
  • Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, hand-eye coordination, repetitive tasks, manual dexterity, and sitting
  • Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, team player, work term: permanent, work language: English, and hours: 30 to 35 hours per week
