Childcare Program Leader Opportunity in Hamilton

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Childcare Program Leader to join our team at the Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton in Dundas, Hamilton.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity for an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) or RECE to take on a leadership role in one of our childcare centres. As a Program Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the centre's operation, including administration, program planning, and implementation.

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a minimum of 2 years experience in program planning and implementation for Infant, Toddler, and preschool children. They will also possess strong leadership and mentoring skills, as well as excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

A competitive salary of $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience, offers a generous compensation package with benefits, RRSP matching program, Employee Assistance Program, Unionized Environment, Generous vacation and sick time allotments, Employees with children get priority on childcare waiting list, Working in a fun, collaborative and positive environment with top professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish goals, plan, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate experiences to enhance children's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development in accordance with Ministry of Education's How Does Learning Happen
  • Supervise children in your care at all times
  • Organize indoor and outdoor play areas, space, equipment, and materials to create a warm and welcoming environment
  • Maintain a safe, warm, and caring environment in which a high-quality childcare program can operate, and maintain professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty
