Aquatics Programs Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Aquatics Programs Specialist to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Toronto. As a key member of our Aquatics team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating programs and processes that impact the experience of our members.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new programs and processes to enhance the member experience
  • Provide support to supervisors in the development and modification of Aquatic programs and events
  • Deliver programs that meet the YMCA's Mission, Vision, values, goals, and practices
  • Act as the Pool Operator and ensure the safety of all members, property, and staff
  • Recruit, coach, and develop a team of volunteers, staff, and participants for aquatic leadership courses
  • Build relationships with members and promote the YMCA's programs and services
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience delivering aquatics programs
  • Certifications in National Lifeguarding Service Award, Life Saving Society FA Instructor, Life Saving Society Lifesaving Instructor, YMCA Swim Instructors certification, YMCA Trainer, and Life Saving Society IT
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
  • Previous experience in development and implementation of new programs an asset
