About the RoleThis is a permanent position requiring a strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills. You will work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines and resolve complex issues.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair issues with commercial transport truck systems, including engines, brakes, and fuel systems.
- Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
- Road test motor vehicles to ensure safe operation.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications.
- Estimate parts and labour costs for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Diploma or certification in automotive repair (e.g. Red Seal Certificate).
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of engine repair, 4-wheel drive, diesel engines, brake systems, fuel and emission systems, and automatic transmissions.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- A competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
