We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our team at the University of Toronto.

Our Operations and Real Estate Partnerships Division (OREP) provides a wide range of services to the University and its campuses, including financial management, facilities and services, and information technology.

Job Summary

This role will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable function for OREP, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and implementing best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the AP process. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of AP specialists to perform day-to-day operations
  • Ensure compliance with division and institution policies and directives
  • Provide AP related analysis and recommendations
  • Oversight of training and development for team staff
  • Contribute to system development, administration, and maintenance

Requirements

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline
  • Professional accounting designation required (e.g. CGA, CPA, CMA, CA)
  • Minimum 6 years of accounting experience in an AP supervisory role
  • Knowledge of SAP or the University's Administrative Management System (AMS)
  • Experience with document control and process implementation

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $102,329 - $123,995, based on the Canadian government's pay scale group PM 3. This includes a comprehensive benefits package, pension plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
