Automotive Refinishing Technician Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Automotive Refinishing Technician to join our team at Craftsman Collision in Kamloops, B.C. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering exceptional results and exceeding customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by spot filling, sanding, and masking to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Match colors and mix paints to achieve precise OEM specifications.
  • Apply primers, primer surfaces, sealers, base coats, single-stage, and clear coats in accordance with manufacturers' guidelines.
  • Document in-progress repairs, including photo documentation, to maintain accurate records.
  • Inspect vehicles for flaws after baking and correct any issues.
  • Inspect repaired panels and bodywork to meet quality standards.
  • Clean and polish painted surfaces and imperfections to meet Craftsman Collision standards.
  • Ensure quality control hand-off to Autobody Technicians is completed.
  • Contribute to material usage tracking and consumption.
Requirements:
  • Red Seal certification or equivalent experience.
  • Passion for vehicles and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to perform light body work.
  • Strong verbal and listening skills.
  • Takes pride in work and work performance.
  • Strives to improve and maintain skills.
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
  • Approaches problems as opportunities.
  • Willingness to be part of a team environment focused on shared goals.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software and online applications.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract over the last 3 years.
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions.
