Job Title: Engineering and Technical Manager

Waterford Executive is seeking an experienced Engineering and Technical Manager to lead and develop our technical programs on site. This role will be responsible for developing project management standards and tools, leading, coaching, and mentoring technical and capital projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership to the project, mechanical design, facilities, and maintenance teams.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, infrastructure improvements, and equipment improvements.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team, encouraging professional growth and skill development.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, applying this knowledge to guide the team in adopting new technologies and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions into the overall business processes.
  • Effectively allocate resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to optimize productivity and achieve project goals.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges in engineering projects and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in engineering or technical management roles.
  • Experience in pyrotechnics or explosives (manufacturing, use, or design) would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with MS Teams, O365, Excel.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies, including MECP, NRC-ERD, MOL, Health Canada, MOL, WSIB, and others.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

This position requires minimum intermediate proficiency in English in each of three language skills: Reading, Writing, and Oral Interaction.
