**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering and Technical Manager to join our team at Waterford Executive. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our technical programs, project management standards, and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Provide strategic leadership to our project, mechanical design, facilities, and maintenance teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, infrastructure improvements, and equipment improvements, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Team Development: Build and mentor a high-performing team, encouraging professional growth and skill development.
- Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices, applying this knowledge to guide the team in adopting new technologies and methodologies.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as R&D, production, finance, and quality, to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions into our overall business processes.
- Resource Allocation: Effectively allocate resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to optimize productivity and achieve project goals.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in engineering projects and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in engineering or technical management roles.
- Experience in pyrotechnics or explosives (manufacturing, use, or design) would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. Formal qualifications would be considered an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with MS Teams, O365, Excel.
- Experience with regulatory agencies, including (but not limited to) MECP, NRC-ERD, MOL, Health Canada, MOL, WSIB, and the likes.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. LEAN, 6Sigma, or TPM experience and qualifications would be considered an asset.
Language Requirements:
The position requires minimum intermediate proficiency in English in each of three language skills: Reading, Writing, and Oral Interaction.
