About the Opportunity

The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs a variety of analytical tests and procedures in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. This role requires technical ability and problem-solving skills to perform tests in clinical and environmental laboratories. The successful candidate will work with minimal supervision in emergency and weekend/night situations, operating computer-integrated instruments and using computerized information systems. They will compare test results to established criteria and make decisions regarding reportability, exercising independent judgment. Effective communication and professionalism are essential in this role, which requires maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.

About You

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in medical laboratory technology. The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an approved program, licensed with NSCMLT or eligible, and registered with CSMLS. They will have the ability to work shiftwork, including weekends and holidays, and be willing to travel when required. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.

Hours and Compensation

This is a long-assignment full-time position, requiring 75 hours biweekly. The successful candidate will be compensated at a rate of $30.83 - $37.54 per hour. They may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
