We are seeking a dedicated and passionate BC certified teacher to join our vibrant community as a Junior High classroom teacher. Our school is nestled in the beautiful Kootenay mountainside, offering a unique blend of academic excellence and outdoor adventure.

About the Role:

We are looking for a teacher who is committed to educating the whole child through Christ-centred academics, character, and service learning. The successful candidate will have recent experience working in a classroom and knowledge of the new BC curriculum. They will also possess exceptional classroom management skills, a willingness to work closely with parents, and strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a multi-grade Junior High classroom, primarily Grades 8-9
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure student success

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education
  • Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Knowledge of the new BC curriculum
  • Exceptional classroom management skills
  • Willingness to work closely with parents
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
