Job Title: Dietician – Nutritionist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Dietician – Nutritionist to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay (CBHSSJB). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for evaluating patients' nutritional status and developing personalized intervention strategies to promote healthy eating habits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the hospital and Elders' home food services to meet the nutritional needs of our patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and education to patients and their families.
  • Develop and implement nutrition programs and workshops to promote healthy eating habits and disease prevention.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and provide recommendations to patients and healthcare teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest nutrition research and best practices to ensure evidence-based care.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics or Nutrition.
  • Member of the Ordre des diététistes nutritionnistes du Québec.
  • Two years of relevant experience is an asset.
  • Experience with First Nation or cross-cultural work is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Cree culture and language, and social/health issues in Eeyou Istchee is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Eenou/Eeyou Miyupimaatisiiun healing practices and paradigms is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Language:

  • Fluent in English.
  • Fluency in Cree or French is an asset.
