This exciting opportunity is for a practical, results-focused lawyer to join the legal department in the real estate development sector, building and operating purpose-built rentals from ground to door.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to build a legal career in an important and growing real-estate space while helping to deliver the housing that Canadians need.

  • Provide accurate, timely, and practical legal advice to all departments within the organization.
  • Manage external litigation counsel in all areas of litigation, including construction and personal injury.
  • Draft and review litigation documents, including notices of civil claim and responses to civil claim.
  • Work closely with other members of the legal team.
  • Draft legal agreements and other legal documents.
  • Manage risk as a facilitator of business operations.
  • Actively participate in building and maintaining our positive office environment.

- Provide strategic legal guidance to support the growth and success of the company.

- Manage and mitigate risks associated with litigation and contract disputes.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective legal solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • An LLB/JD or equivalent degree.
  • A minimum of two years post-call experience.
  • Membership in good standing of the Law Society of B.C. or ability to transfer from another provincial law society.
  • Prior experience in corporate commercial, construction, and litigation is preferred.
  • A critical thinker who takes a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to manage multiple work assignments and competing priorities under tight timelines.
  • A team player with the ability to work independently when required, demonstrating high personal initiative.
