About the Role

Athletics 4 Kids is seeking a dynamic and passionate Executive Director to lead our organization through a period of significant growth and into the future.

The ideal candidate will be a persuasive and passionate leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, including excellent written, verbal, and presentation communications skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing a strong and collaborative relationship with the Board of Directors
  • Representing Athletics 4 Kids at community events, fundraisers, with donors, and in the media
  • Effectively directing activities and resources to ensure focus on priorities aligned to our goals
  • Managing, recruiting, and training staff/interns and conducting quarterly performance evaluations
  • Providing a safe and inclusive work/volunteer environment

Program Delivery and Administration

The Executive Director will be responsible for ensuring efficient delivery of our Sport4Life Grants through daily/weekly/monthly monitoring of KPIs.

This includes:

  • Monitoring and reporting on monthly Sport4Life Grant actuals to budget
  • Reviewing grant ceiling levels, program funding requirements, and making recommendations to the eligibility committee
  • Handling escalations with families experiencing challenges with our application/approval process

Fundraising and Donor Stewarding

The Executive Director will develop a multi-year fundraising diversification plan by analyzing existing fundraising and identifying new sources, including major gifts.

This includes:

  • Building, strengthening, and stewarding relationships with current and potential donors
  • Working with 3rd party consultants to execute fundraising campaigns
  • Developing strategic partnerships with community or other charitable organizations

Marketing and Community Engagement

The Executive Director will promote Athletics 4 Kids and act as primary spokesperson.

This includes:

  • Managing projects and building relationships with stakeholders
  • Recruiting and managing volunteers for community events
  • Collaborating with marketing consultants to ensure successful execution of our campaigns and events

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3-5 years as an Executive Director of a Non-Profit or equivalent
  • Excellent planning, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Presentation and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Volunteer management and event planning experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a volunteer board of directors
  • Experience with budgeting and P&L management; QuickBooks knowledge is an asset
  • Strong computer skills and excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, social media mediums, and communications software; experience with Keela CRM an asset
  • Passion for youth development through sports
