About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sommelier Supervisor to join our team at Four Seasons Hotel Montreal. As a key member of our Food and Beverage department, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of our restaurants, bars, and lounges, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences and ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support the team of sommeliers, bartenders, and servers to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional guest experiences.
- Develop and implement wine lists, cocktail menus, and other beverage programs to drive revenue growth and enhance the guest experience.
- Conduct regular wine tastings and training sessions to ensure staff knowledge and expertise in wine, spirits, and other beverages.
- Monitor and maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in all Food and Beverage areas.
- Collaborate with the Beverage Manager to develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, improve guest satisfaction, and enhance the overall guest experience.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and concerns.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery and high-quality food and beverage offerings.
- Monitor and control inventory, supplies, and expenses to ensure efficient operations and maximum profitability.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills in wine, spirits, and other beverages.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a luxury hotel or restaurant environment.
- College degree or certification in Hotel Management, Sommelier, or related field.
- Excellent knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, with experience using POS systems.
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in French and English, with a strong understanding of local laws and regulations.
- Clear supervisory, coaching, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver exceptional results.
- Trustworthy and helpful personality, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
- Ability to lift, pull, or push loads up to 25kg, with a strong physical presence and stamina.
