As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in the Health Equipment Loan Program (HELP), ensuring clients receive the necessary equipment to maintain their independence. Your expertise will be utilized to coordinate program development, implementation, assessment, and evaluation, working closely with internal and external contacts to meet client needs.

The ideal candidate will possess a Baccalaureate Degree in Occupational Therapy, membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, and current registration with the Nova Scotia Association of Occupational Therapists. A minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience is required, along with excellent knowledge of current issues in the community health sector and experience in health equipment and geriatrics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with organizational abilities, are essential for success in this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the ongoing development, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of the Health Equipment Loan Program
  • Working with internal and external contacts to ensure client needs are met
  • Maintaining records on loans, returns, inventory, statistics, and equipment repairs
  • Liaising with Health Equipment Technicians to ensure timely adjustments to equipment
  • Conducting audits and checklists as per OH&S requirements
