About the Role

The Health Care Aide (HCA) is a vital member of our care team, providing person-centered and quality care to our residents. As an HCA, you will work collaboratively with our Director of Care and other team members to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the care team.
  • Provide personal care services, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and assisting with meals and oral hygiene.
  • Respond to resident needs and concerns in a timely and compassionate manner.
  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition, including symptoms and behavioral changes.
  • Utilize proper safety protocols when operating mechanical aids and assisting with lifting and transferring residents.
  • Assist with meal service and tray delivery, ensuring residents receive nutritious and appealing meals.
  • Encourage resident participation in activities and events, promoting socialization and engagement.
  • Perform laundry and other tasks as required to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Graduate of a recognized Care Aide program.
  • Active registration with the British Columbia Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry.
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate and Medication Administration Certification an asset.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care facility an asset.
  • Ability to provide compassionate and empathetic care, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on resident-centered care.
