About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Invertebrate Specialist to join our team at The University Of Illinois.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of approximately $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and classify benthic invertebrates using morphological techniques, conducting thorough analysis to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Collaborate with researchers and other team members on various projects, contributing expertise and ideas to drive project success.
  • Develop and implement protocols for sample analysis, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all projects.
  • Support the development of proposals for funding, coordinating with colleagues to create compelling cases for research support.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in Biology or a related field, with a focus on freshwater benthic invertebrates, or an equivalent level of experience in marine invertebrate taxonomy.
  • Familiarity with aquatic sampling techniques and laboratory analysis, demonstrating ability to work effectively in a scientific environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience in proposal writing and project coordination.
