Job Summary:

The Dean of the School of Business and Hospitality at Algonquin College is responsible for providing academic and administrative leadership to the school, ensuring the academic well-being and growth of the college, and contributing to the development of strategic plans to position the school as a prominent institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic leadership to faculty and staff, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Ensure the effective use of fiscal, human, and physical resources within the school.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to position the school as a prominent institution.
  • Ensure that programs are responsive and relevant to the needs of students and the community.
  • Develop and maintain good professional relationships and partnerships with regional sectors.
  • Represent the school on college-wide committees and external bodies.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in business or a relevant field, PhD preferred.
  • Post-secondary credential in a program associated with the School of Business and Hospitality or professional designation in business.
  • Minimum of 13 years related experience in increasingly responsible roles.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior-level leadership and management experience, with a preference for experience in a post-secondary educational institution.
  • Experience managing personnel in a large, unionized environment.
