Power Delivery Engineering Team Lead

HDR Engineering is seeking a highly experienced Power Delivery Engineering Team Lead to join our team of experts in Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide technical teams on high voltage transmission, substation, and distribution projects.
  • Develop and implement project execution plans for technical aspects of projects.
  • Assign project tasks and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Support technical aspects of scope, schedule, and budget, including proposal development and progress assessment.
  • Collaborate with local area and practice leadership to hire, mentor, and train team members.
  • Coordinate and perform quality checks and reviews for project deliverables.
  • Lead multiple projects concurrently, utilizing teams in different locations.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of power delivery technical design experience with high voltage electrical distribution, transmission, switchyard, and substation projects.
  • 5+ years of engineering management, project execution, and program management-related experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient with industry-standard design software and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional registration, license, or certification in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience managing and hiring staff.
  • Strong understanding of CSA, IEEE, ANSI, and other applicable design and equipment standards.
