Position Overview

Calian, a leading provider of psychological assessment services, is seeking a skilled Psychologist to join our team in Fredericton, New Brunswick. As a vital member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients, particularly those operating in high-risk scenarios, by conducting assessments to ensure their applicants are well-suited for the job.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Psychologist to contribute to the assurance that organizations are staffed with thoroughly assessed personnel, ready and equipped to perform their duties effectively.

We are looking for a professional with flexible schedules, who can manage the referral process and coordinate assessments based on their availability.

This role offers a dynamic and diverse work environment, catering to Psychologists who thrive on multifaceted challenges.

Responsibilities
  • You will be responsible for interviewing candidates who have previously completed written personality assessments, which are administered by Calian. After your one-on-one interview, you will complete a template with your findings.
  • In this role, you will be asked to perform the second part of a two-part assessment. The first part will include formal testing, using MMPI-3 and 16PF, followed by the second part, a structured clinical interview.
  • You will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting the results of the testing and then conducting the follow-up clinical interview and ultimately determining whether the candidate meets or does not meet the requirements.
  • You may also be required to provide feedback on individual assessment results to the candidates and defend psychological evaluations when required.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D in Psychology is preferred, a Master's degree may be accepted.
  • Being fully bilingual (French and English) is mandatory.
  • Must be licensed for autonomous practice as a Psychologist in New Brunswick.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 25 psychological assessments in the last 5 years for adults in high-risk occupations such as police, military, first responders, armed border agents, or correctional services officers.
  • 2 years of experience performing psychodiagnostics assessments with adults in a clinical setting using DSM criteria.
  • 3 years of experience using MMPI-2, MMPI-2-RF, or MMPI-3 in psychodiagnostic or psychological suitability assessments.
Additional Requirements
  • Casual contract and flexible working schedule.
  • Assessments can be done on weekdays, weekends and/or evenings.
  • Must be able to conduct interviews with candidates in-person in a private office or virtually.
