We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Attendant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. Reporting to the Health Services Manager or delegate, this role is responsible for supporting patient care activities in their work area, including:
- Assisting in the movement and transportation of patients
- Cleaning equipment and work areas
- Maintaining equipment and handling of sterile items
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing excellent patient care and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This is a casual relief position, and the successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Current certification in CPR
- Current certification in WHIMIS
- Previous Patient Attendant experience is an asset
- Previous experience working in an OR environment is preferable
- Ability to respond quickly to unexpected situations and work effectively in emergency situations
- Ability to lift and move patients using proper body mechanics and/or lifting devices
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team, with highly developed interpersonal skills
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, French preferred

$21.69 Hourly
