Role Overview

As a Portfolio Analyst, you will contribute to the success of the Managed Portfolio Program / Investment & Advisory Solutions / Scotia Wealth Management in Canada. Your primary goal will be to ensure the execution and delivery of specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations by reviewing Investment Policy Statements (IPS) to ensure KYC and program suitability.
  • Manage compliance to program policies by organizing the communication and tracking of all IPS violations until closure.
  • Act as the main point of contact for all administrative requests for MPP, including policy clarification, general program information, and rejected account information.
  • Conduct appropriate inquiries and investigations and ensure that appropriate corrective actions and/or risk mitigation actions are implemented in a timely manner or escalated.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
  • Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree.
  • CFA level 1 is preferred.
  • Experience working effectively with Advisors.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Excel VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) preferred.
