We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Psychiatric Liaison Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at Peace Arch Hospital. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals experiencing mental health crises.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments and develop individualized care plans to address the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with Emergency Department staff, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and effective patient flow.
- Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and education to patients and their families, promoting a safe and supportive environment.
- Document patient assessments, care plans, and outcomes in accordance with Fraser Health's policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and safety.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- One year of recent experience in an acute or community Mental Health & Substance Use setting, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of mental health and substance use treatment, psychopharmacology, and crisis intervention techniques.
