Job Title: Gas Fitter Apprentice

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Gas Fitter Apprentice to join our team at Hearth Fireplace Distributors Inc. As a Gas Fitter Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting experienced gas fitters in the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas heating units and their components.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the installation of gas heating units and their components
  • Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment
  • Service gas heating units and their components
  • Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment
  • Advise clients regarding standards, safety features, and maintenance of gas units and systems
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required
  • Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices
  • Test and replace defective equipment or components
Requirements:
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Safety glasses/goggles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle heavy loads
  • Ability to work physically demanding tasks
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team player
