Job Title: Apprentice Gas Fitter

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Gas Fitter to join our team at Hearth Fireplace Distributors Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of gas heating units and appliances in residential settings. This is a fantastic opportunity for a gas fitting enthusiast to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Install gas heating units and their components, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Measure and mark reference points for the installation of gas lines and equipment, demonstrating attention to detail and precision.
  • Service gas heating units and their components, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment, utilizing problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
  • Advise clients on standards, safety features, and maintenance of gas units and systems, providing excellent customer service.
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required, showcasing analytical skills.
  • Test and adjust control mechanisms, check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices, and replace defective equipment or components as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Gas Fitter Trade Certification
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding tasks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Accurate and dependable, with a strong attention to detail
