Job Title: Apprentice Gas Fitter

We are seeking a skilled Apprentice Gas Fitter to join our team at Hearth Fireplace Distributors Inc. As an Apprentice Gas Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing gas heating units and their components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install gas heating units and their components in various locations, including residential settings.
  • Measure and mark reference points for the installation of gas lines and equipment.
  • Service gas heating units and their components to ensure optimal performance.
  • Repair and service gas appliances and related equipment.
  • Advise clients on standards, safety features, and maintenance of gas units and systems.
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine the layout of the installation and materials required.
  • Test and adjust control mechanisms and check pipes and piping connections for gas leaks using gas detecting devices.
  • Test and replace defective equipment or components.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Gas Fitter Trade Certification.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 1 or A.
  • Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 2 or B.
  • Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 3 or C.
Requirements:
  • Bondable.
  • Criminal record check.
  • Valid driver's licence.
Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Handling heavy loads.
  • Physically demanding.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling.
