About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Maple Leaf Queen's Buffet. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution

Develop and implement menus that meet the tastes and preferences of our customers, while maintaining a focus on quality and consistency.

Food Preparation and Presentation

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Kitchen Operations and Management

Supervise and train kitchen staff and helpers to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations.

Inventory Management and Control

Maintain accurate inventory records and control systems to ensure that food, supplies, and equipment are managed effectively.

Cleanliness and Sanitation

Ensure that kitchen and work areas are clean and sanitized to the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Requirements
  • Culinary Certification

Cook Trade Certification and Food Safety Certificate are required.

Culinary Skills and Knowledge

Extensive knowledge of Cantonese cuisine, sushi preparation techniques, and Szechuan cooking methods is essential.

Leadership and Communication Skills

Strong leadership and communication skills are required to train and supervise kitchen staff.

Attention to Detail and Time Management

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail is crucial.

Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 to 40 hours per week. The work environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to work under pressure.
