Job Title: Corporate Reporting Specialist

Canadian Pacific (CP) and Kansas City Southern (KCS) have merged to form CPKC, the only truly North American railway. As a Corporate Reporting Specialist, you will play a critical role in sustaining and improving complex accounting and reporting functions, supporting the Corporate Reporting team's activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and coordinate accounting and reporting activities to ensure rapid and accurate execution
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to provide information and require output
  • Perform journal entries and reconciliations
  • Prepare external financial disclosures
  • Prepare financial analysis on monthly and quarterly data
  • Assess and research implications of significant financial transactions
  • Identify and analyze inconsistencies and recommend adjustments
  • Identify and analyze process improvements and implement solutions
  • Ensure financial reporting compliance with US GAAP, tax, or securities regulation as applicable and SOX
  • Address and respond to queries from auditors and internal reviewers
Requirements:
  • CPA designation
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of US GAAP requirements, desirable
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
