About the Role

As a Meat and Seafood Department Lead at Whole Foods Market, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in overseeing daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. Your primary goal will be to lead and develop Team Members to achieve exceptional retail execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Development: Partner with the Team Leader to select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members to build a high-performance team.
  • Customer Service: Model and deliver outstanding customer service by responding to customer questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Operational Excellence: Work with the Team Leader to achieve sales, margin, expense, and labor targets while maintaining high standards of retail execution.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure all cases and shelves are clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated.
  • Product Knowledge: Train Team Members on organic standard procedures, demonstrate advanced product knowledge, and maintain awareness of new products.

Requirements

  • Leadership Experience: 1+ year of leadership experience in meat retail or seafood retail.
  • Customer Focus: Strong customer service skills with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Operational Skills: Ability to manage inventory, labor, and expenses while maintaining high standards of retail execution.
  • Team Orientation: Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $25.00 - $38.00 hourly, commensurate with experience. Additionally, we provide comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan benefits, eligibility for a store discount, paid time off, and access to other benefit programs.
