Job Title: Construction Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Supervisor to join our team at our Detour Lake Mine in Ontario, Canada. As a Construction Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of construction projects, managing contractors, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project contractors by monitoring and controlling performance;
  • Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and constructability reviews;
  • Implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards;
  • Resolve problems and identify construction management system improvements;
  • Meet project budgets and timelines by monitoring project expenditures and identifying variances;
  • Accomplish construction project results by contributing to project scope definition, estimating, and enforcing standards and protocols;
  • Prevent orders and interruptions by complying with and enforcing various regulations and codes;
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures;
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical engineering technology preferred; considerable experience in related field will be considered;
  • 5+ years' experience in managing the execution of small to medium size projects;
  • Knowledge of basic project management techniques (i.e. progress measurement and earned value technique) and experience in estimation, cost monitoring, analyzing and reporting;
  • A Millwright, Ironworker or Carpentry trades background will be an asset;
  • Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines;
  • People management skills and experience managing Contractor personnel is an asset;
  • Working knowledge of regular financial and procurement processes, preferably in construction or engineering projects is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Ontario OH&S Act & Regulations is considered an asset;
  • Experience working at a remote work site is considered an asset;
  • Experience working in SAP or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
