ABOUT OUR OPERATION

Agnico Eagle Mines' Detour Lake Mine is situated on the traditional homelands of the Apitipi Anicinapek Nation, Moose Cree First Nation, and Taykwa Tagamou Nation. YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Projects Superintendent, you will be part of the Projects Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Manage project contractors by monitoring and controlling performance;
  • Meet operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and constructability reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements;
  • Meet project budgets and timelines by monitoring project expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions;
  • Accomplish construction project results by contributing to project scope definition; estimating; enforcing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating contractor works; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders;
  • Prevent orders and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, the various regulations and codes;
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures;
  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical engineering technology preferred; considerable experience in related field will be considered;
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing the execution of small to medium size projects;
  • Knowledge of basic project management techniques (i.e. progress measurement and earned value technique) and experience in estimation, cost monitoring, analyzing and reporting;
  • A Millwright, Ironworker or Carpentry trades background will be an asset;
  • Ability to establish priorities and work under pressure to meet project deadlines;
  • People management skills and experience managing Contractor personnel is an asset;
  • Working knowledge of regular financial and procurement processes, preferably in construction or engineering projects is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Ontario OH&S Act & Regulations is considered an asset;
  • Experience working at a remote work site is considered an asset;
  • Experience working in SAP or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
