Facilities Maintenance Specialist

About the Role
At BGIS, we are seeking a skilled Cleaner to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality cleaning and related services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out cleaning duties to meet client requirements, identifying and reporting any deficiencies to the Team Leader.
- Operate cleaning equipment, wash and dust surfaces, empty litter and recycling containers, and perform other tasks as required.
- Secure assigned facilities after hours, ensuring doors are locked, windows are closed, and security systems are reset as needed.
- Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, and guidelines related to environmental, health, and safety, and fire protection.
- Represent BGIS in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction, maintaining positive relations, and providing excellent customer service.
- May be required to work shifts, work on-call/standby, and emergency call-out as needed.
Requirements
- High school education.
- One year or less of experience in industrial/commercial facility cleaning operations.
- Self-starter, willing to learn, and able to work independently.
- Team player with good verbal communication and writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
- Positive attitude toward all aspects of Environment, Health, and Safety.
- Knowledge of national and industry codes and standards such as WHMIS.
