About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Specialist to join our team at the Eastern Ontario Regional Laboratory Association. This is a dynamic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional laboratory services.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, receiving, accessioning and preparing all samples for diagnostic testing and results reporting of clinical samples. They may also be required to identify and resolve unsuitable specimens for testing. Depending on operational requirements, they may assist with training new staff and rotate through different specified job functions.

Work Environment

As a Medical Laboratory Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and strong organizational skills. You will be part of a collaborative team that values teamwork and open communication.

Requirements
  • A college diploma from a recognized program or completion of MLPAO or CSMLS exam in the appropriate field of practice;
  • A minimum of six months to one year of experience, unless clinical placement was conducted in one of EORLA's labs;
  • Knowledge of medical laboratory theory, principles and practices;
  • Knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset;
  • Microbiology experience is considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is between $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental and vision insurance, as well as a pension plan.
