Microscopy Specialist

Job Overview

EORLA/ALREO seeks a skilled Microscopy Specialist to join our team in clinical electron microscopy. This is a highly specialized role that requires expertise in specimen processing, microscopy, and interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process, embed, section, and stain specimens for electron microscopy
• Perform microscopy and interpretation of specimens
• Assist with training and may rotate through different job functions

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

• A degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technologist program or equivalent prior learning assessment program
• Registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) in the appropriate field of practice
• Minimum six months to one year of experience unless clinical placement was conducted in one of EORLA's labs
• Electron microscopy experience
• Knowledge of relevant accreditation standards, health care regulations, and medical laboratory theory, principles, and practices
• Understanding of occupational health and safety legislation
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Sound problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately $65,000-$85,000, depending on experience and location.

Rotation/Shifts

This role may require working days, evenings, and nights, including weekends, in 8-hour shifts. Please note that EORLA reserves the right to adjust rotation and shift schedules as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Consideration will be given to candidates with:

• 3 or more years of related electron microscopy experience in a clinical setting
• Knowledge of pediatric and adult ultrastructural pathology
• Relevant university degree from a recognized program
• Bilingualism
