Infectious Disease Specialist

This posting will be used to fill a term position in the Community Health Programs branch, working 75 hours bi-weekly, with the possibility of extension. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar permanent and similar positions.
About the RoleAs an Infectious Disease Nurse, you will provide primary health care services through an expanded nursing role. This position provides physical and risk assessments relating to infectious disease, including testing and counseling, interpretation of test results, diagnosis, treatment, case management, immunization, outbreak, pandemic response and referrals.
Key Responsibilities- Manage disease investigations, contact tracing and follow up activities for Yukon's Reportable Disease List.
- Provide guidance and support to other health care providers in Yukon in the management of reportable communicable diseases.
- Help to foster an environment in which communities, families and individuals can achieve and maintain optimal health through the provision of accurate and timely health information, health education/promotion, disease prevention and treatment services.
