Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager Credit Execution to lead our Commercial Banking team in Western Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing a team of credit underwriters and developing a pipeline of key talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of credit underwriters in Western Canada, providing coaching and mentoring to ensure high performance.
  • Support the Commercial Banking team in managing and growing an existing portfolio of commercial lending relationships.
  • Work with team members on initial transaction analysis and deal structuring.
  • Manage and review credit applications before submission to Credit Risk Management.
  • Occasionally author credit applications for complex transactions.
  • Provide assistance to the underwriting team with the presentation of their credit applications.
  • Coordinate and lead discussions with Credit Risk Management.
  • Manage and monitor the loan portfolio to ensure alignment with established parameters.
  • Work with Account Representatives and back-office staff to ensure required conditions are met prior to funding.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of related commercial banking experience.
  • Experience building, developing, and leading a team of high-performing credit underwriting professionals.
  • Exceptional commercial credit analysis skills and the ability to creatively problem-solve.
  • Clear, succinct, and persuasive credit writing capabilities.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to blend strong technical knowledge with sound business judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with partners at all levels.
